Upshur County Commission Proclaims Mental Health Awareness Day

| From The Inter Mountain Newspaper May 16, 2008:PROCLAMATION — The Upshur County Commission recently signed a proclamation declaring May 8 as Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day in Upshur County. FMRS Health Systems Delivers Children's Mental Health Awareness Baskets
|

|
| The FMRS Health Systems Children's Service Coordinators, School-Based Counselors and Children's Outreach Liaison spread the news to doctor's offices, schools, probation offices and Head Start centers in Raleigh, Fayette, Monroe and Summers County. Twenty of these baskets contained resource information, candy, mood pencils and pens. Staff that took time to take the baskets out into the community were Leslie Gross, Tammy Skidmore, Mary Ann Franklin, Kristin Perry, Elizabeth Gray, Monica Kern, Donna Hundley, Crystal Meadows, Shannon Chipolette and Tracy King. | FAST Project Volunteers and the Harrison County Parent Educator Resource Center collaborated to provide a community awareness booth at the Meadowbrook Mall on May 7, 2008. Staff & Volunteers included Dianna Bailey-Miller, Melody Waybright, Bonnie Craig, Rita Herrod and Candy Bailey. Over 87 people received balloons, information on children's well-being and resources for families. (More pictures below) |
