Working to Keep Kids Closer to Families
Because every West Virginia child deserves the best treatment, as close to home, as possible . . . Join the WV System of Care in our efforts to reduce out-of-state placement.
A clinical review process is now in place in West Virginia. This is a coordinated effort designed to provide a comprehensive, objective, clinical review of designated youth. Children that are targeted for this review process include youth currently placed in Out-of-State residential treatment facilities or at risk of Out-of-State placement. Qualified clinical professionals may be trained in their regions to serve as Individual Reviewers and Regional Clinical Review Team members. Contact your Regional Clinical Coordinator for details.

Clinical Review Tools Under Revision - Friday, December 10, 2010
During the last several months, the Regional Clinical Review process was reviewed by the oversight team, the Service Delivery/Development Work Group (a workgroup of the Commission to Study Residential Placement of Children). Since the review, tools are revised and being piloted by the Regional Clinical Coordinators. In addition, Marshall University is conducting a quality assurance review of the process which includes the tools. Once the review is complete, the SDDWG Work Group will review the findings and make recommendations. You can find the annual data report below.
